Description

Producer:	The story starts in 1981 when Lodovico Antinori buys in Bolgheri Land. He realized that this zone is predestined for the classic Bordeaux varieties. With the help of the oenologist Michel Roland, the first Ornellaia comes on the market a good seven years later: the vintage 1985! Today, about 30 years later, the Ornellaia is one of the great classics of the wine world and is among connoisseurs to the wines, "which one would have drunk once."
Region	Bolgheri is a hamlet of Castagneto Carducci in the province of Livorno. The area became famous in the wine world in the 70s, when the wine region was first awarded by the magazine DECANTER. The most important branch of industry is viticulture and, consequently, tourism. Interspersed is the Tuscan wine landscape with numerous olive groves and forests. The numerous hills of Tuscany are excellent for the high-quality wine cultivation. They soften high summer temperatures and the floors are also excellent for classic French grape varieties to thrive as well as native grapes. Year after year, in Tuscany, top-quality wines are produced in quantities that no other region in the country has.
Variety:	Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
Production	The malolactic fermentation took place mainly in oak barrels (70% new and 30% first occupation). The wine matured for about 20 months in barriques in the temperate cellars of the winery Tenuta dell'Ornellaia.
Tasting Note:	The intense, rich and dense palate impresses with great concentration and powerful, yet fine, velvety and lively tannins that give a great structure to wine.
