The Gaja plants are exemplary in their seductive brilliance and stylistic perfection. His wines have remained at the top to this day and this all started in 1961, when his father entrusted him with the vineyards. He implemented new ideas and put the greatest emphasis on the best grape varieties and a high-quality processing. Founded in 1859, Angelo Gaja is one of Italy's best-known estates with a worldwide flair. It was one of the first wineries to bottle its wines instead of the usual barrels. |
| Region | Piedmont - the region of the highest mountains, the largest wines, the longest river and perhaps the best cuisine in Italy. It is divided geologically into three landscapes: the high mountains of the Western Alps, the flat Po Valley and the southern lowlands of Monferrato and Langhe. Piedmont stands for history and memory, art and culture, legends and traditions. There are 12 DOCG areas and the most famous ones are Barolo, Barbaresco - certainly Asti, Gavi and Roero. Unless marked as DOCG wine, all wines have DOC status. The most important vermouth manufacturers in the world have their home in Piedmont. The drink consists of at least 70% wine. |
