Producer: | Motivated by his enthusiasm for good wines, Andrea Davaz founded Salis AG in 1994 with two friends. For 25 years now we are passionate about the topic of wine and look for our customers the best wines from around the world. Over the years, we were able to win over 20 well-trained employees who keep track of our steadily growing product range in Landquart and in the Vinothek Maienfeld. We source the grapes of our own wines from more than 60 vintners from Fläsch, Maienfeld, Jenins, Malans, Zizers and Trimmis. Graubünden grapes grow there on more than 50 hectares, making our wine something special. We also manage about two hectares of our own vineyards in the Bündner Herrschaft. As not only regionality, but also nature is important to us, we pay close attention to our ecological responsibility in all processes and produce our wines without exception according to the latest ecological standards. |
Region: | The Bündner Herrschaft has had its name since the 16th century, when the "Drei Bünde" bought up the area. In the Middle Ages, the Completer grape was cultivated here, which owes its name to the "Komplet", the evening prayer of the Chur canons. The red wines, which today have the much larger share of production, were introduced only in the 17th century. Today, there are more than 40 grape varieties on the estate of approximately 420 hectares cultivated by around 90 vineyards. Quite a few wine lovers and wine lovers are of the opinion that the Bündner Herrschaft apart from Burgundy probably has the best terroir for Pinot Noir. The ingredients of success are the not too lush, well-drained soils of silt, gravel, sand and Graubünden slate. Next comes the ideal climate in the Grisons Rhine Valley, which is characterized by plenty of sunshine, the hair dryer and the enormously important, large temperature differences between day and night. |
Variety: | Pinot Noir |
production | Unlike the fine wine, the whole grape is fermented here and matured for 8 months in a stainless steel tank. |
tasting note: | In the charming nose fruity raspberry and strawberry notes, fresh and juicy, on the palate again fine fruit sweetness and notes of red currant. Soft with a light creaminess. The medium-bodied body is very balanced and ends in a stimulating finale. An uncomplicated Pinot Noir from Grisons with a high fun factor! |
