Producer : | In 1967, Jaime Rodríguez bought the successful Finca Remelluri in Rioja. When the son Telmo began studying oenology, the path of the winery seemed to be mapped out. But it is usually known that things turn out differently: after various stops, the busy Telmo set out to turn the Spanish wine world upside down. In 1994 he founded his "Compania de Vinos", leased and bought vineyards in the classic wine regions of Spain wherever possible. His declared goal was to place the typical regional vines and characteristics of the individual wines in the foreground and to provide them with his personal signature. He was certainly one of the first winemakers in Spain to deal intensively with the subject of “terroir”. Today, a team of twelve oenologists works in the different regions of Spain under the leadership of the “master”, who is constantly on the go to check the quality and typicality of his wines. |
Region: | Toro is one of the Spanish growing areas along the Duero River and is also the name of the city that lies north of the river. The Toro spares no comparison with its famous neighbors like the Ribera. The quality is excellent and the prices are consistent. The Toro wine region has a dry continental climate with some Atlantic influence. Summers are dry and hot, winters long, hard and also dry. |
Grape variety : | Tinta de Toro |
Manufacture : | aged for 4-6 months in the cement tank. |
Tasting note : | In the nose a strong aroma of ripe fruit, such as cherries and blackberries with hints of earthy notes and ripe grape skins. Fleshy and dense on the palate, fruity, slightly sweet, typical of the grape variety, with pleasant tannins. Despite its youth, the wine shows finesse and elegance at the same time. |
