Producer : | Jameson is probably one of the most famous Irish whiskey brands and was founded in Dublin in 1780 by John Jamson. This year dates back to the founding of the Stein's Bow Street Distillery in the street of the same name, where the Jameson distillery is located today. Jameson was able to take over this together with his son in 1810 by marrying one of Stein's nieces and renamed it "The John Jameson and Son Distillery", JJ&S for short. Today, the show distillery is located at the old location on Bow Street, but production is in Midleton. Whiskey production suffered greatly during the prohibition period, and the poor economic situation led to various closings. To counter the crisis, the remaining Irish distilleries, Power's and Cork Distilleries merged with Jameson in 1966 and founded the Irish Distillers Group. It has been part of Pernod Ricard since 1988. |
Manufacture : | Like every Irishe whiskey, the Jameson is distilled in a classic 3-way. It consists of a blend of pot still whiskey and grain whiskey. He gets the finishing in bourbon and sherry casks. |
Degustationsnotiz: | Aromas of walnut, some vanilla and cedar wood together with a malty note characterize this Irish. |
