Region | Prosecco was once the name of a grape variety that winegrowers pressed throughout Italy. But since 2009, the Prosecco grape is no longer called Prosecco by decree, but "Glera" and the term Prosecco is a protected designation of origin. Variety: | 100% Glera read by hand. Prosecco is no longer allowed to be the name of the grapes since 1 January 2010, but only as Denomination of Origin. Glera only grows in north-eastern Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. |
