Description

Producer: Astoria was founded in 1987 by a long-established winemaker family with a strong sense of quality. Forty hectares of land belong to this farm in one of the most beautiful wine-growing areas of Italy, in the heart of the DOCG Conegliano - Valdobbiadene zone. The house is well known for Prosecco and is also very well anchored locally. Astoria wines are found in many restaurants and wine bars. "Tenuta Val de Brun" is the name of the farm, where all Astoria wines are pressed. The Tenuta is located in the town of Refrontolo
Region Prosecco was once the name of a grape variety that winegrowers pressed throughout Italy. But since 2009, the Prosecco grape is no longer called Prosecco by decree, but "Glera" and the term Prosecco is a protected designation of origin. This means that only wine from certain regions may be called Prosecco. There are two levels of quality: D.O.C. means Denominazione di Origine Controllata. This Prosecco comes from 9 areas in the northern Italian regions of Veneto and Friuli. D.O.C.G. stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita. This sparkling wine comes from the historic core area of Prosecco around the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in the hinterland of Venice.
Variety: 100% Glera read by hand. Prosecco is no longer allowed to be the name of the grapes since 1 January 2010, but only as Denomination of Origin. Glera only grows in north-eastern Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
production Lightweight presses with a short cold maceration of the berry skin. The primary fermentation takes place in steel containers at 18/19 ° C, with selected yeasts. The young wine rests for some weeks on the noble dregs; the subsequent phase consists in the second fermentation, which lasts 20/25 days at 18 ° C. Thereafter, the sparkling wine rests for a few weeks on the dregs. After bottling, another dwell time in the bottle follows for final removal.
tasting note: Straw yellow color. Fine yeast fragrance, full-bodied, harmonious, dry. Delicate aromas of wisteria flowers, exotic fruits, pears, bananas and pineapple. A very pleasant and persistent perlage.
Maturity: Sparkling wines are always ready for enjoyment. Buy regularly and fresh bottles. It does not benefit from storage.
Enjoy: Aperitifs and everywhere there are parties to celebrate. Cold and warm appetizers from fish. Puff pastry. Vegetables with the matching dips. 1 glass of spumante should treat man / woman every day. He does the body and the soul well!
