Producer : | The winery was acquired by Gino Triacca in 1969 in an absolutely desolate condition. That is why the first harvest was delayed until 1975. The entire construction work was only completed in 1979. The long undeveloped land served as a hunting ground and had to be largely cleared and replanted. The former Villa Franchi needed a complete renovation, new wineries, water reservoirs and connecting routes were created. After adjacent land was bought in 1987 and 1990, the entire property encompasses around 350 hectares of olive groves, forest, fields and meadows. 100 hectares of it are under vines. |
Region: | The Chianti area, also called Colline del Chianti or Monti del Chianti, is a chain of hills in the center of Tuscany, in which Chianti wine has been produced for centuries. The winegrowing area makes up about a third of the entire Tuscany. The idyllic, listed hillside location and the dreamy landscape with vines and olive trees is unique. |
Grape variety : | Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon |
Manufacture : | The yield is deliberately kept low, the strictly selected grapes on the stick dried slightly. The wine is aged in new barriques for eight months. |
Degustationsnotiz: | On the nose hints of liquorice, cloves and juniper. Full and persistent on the palate, good acidity and nice length on the finish. |
Drinkability : | vintage + 10 years |
Enjoy: | Ideal with strong meat dishes and game poultry |
