Producer : | Lodovico and Piero Antinori are brothers and come from one of the most influential wine dynasties in Italy. While Piero, the elder, took over the management of the Antinori house, Lodovico made wine history in the 1980s with the establishment of the Ornellaia winery. A break between the two occurred when Lodovico Ornellaia sold to Mondavi in the late 1990s and the prestigious winery later fell into the hands of its greatest rival, Frescobaldi. In 1995 Lodovico discovered the location of today's Tenuta di Biserno and acquired it for the later expansion of Ornellaia. History wanted it differently and many years later Lodovico reconciled with his big brother about this project, he was able to win him as an investor. The winery is unique and sensational only because it separates the brothers Antinori and therefore reunited two of the greatest wine personalities in Italy. The Tenuta is located in the Bibbona hills near the coast, adjacent to Bolgheri in the upper Maremma. The Tenuta di Biserno vineyards combine the unique terroir with the close proximity to the cooling influence of the sea. |
