Producer : | The Tua Rita winery is picturesquely situated on a hill near the medieval town of Suvereto with a view of the Mediterranean Sea and the island of Elba. The likeable Stefano Frascolla leads the fortunes of Tua Rita today. He is the son-in-law of Rita and Virgilio Bisti, who originally acquired today's winery in 1984 as a holiday home. Back then you planted Merlot as a hobby and used it to make wine for your own consumption. It is history that these very first vine plantings now produce one of the most famous wines in Italy and the world, the pure Merlot Redigaffi. Stefano has meanwhile created other great wines such as the Cuvée Giusto di Notri and the very rare Syrah. Despite the almost "obligatory" high ratings of the international wine press, you can also buy a wine from Tua Rita for every day and this is already sensational. Stefano Frascolla makes sure to offer the fans of his wines a drink from the start. The Tua Rita wines have enormous aging potential - perfect for our customers' wine cellars. |
Region: | The Maremma is a landscape in central Italy and includes all of southern Tuscany and parts of northern Lazio. The Maremma is largely a flat landscape. The hills and mountain ranges of the hinterland only reach the coast in a few places. Of course, the Maremma with its beaches is also an excellent destination for a beach holiday. The landscape and the remarkable old towns on the coast and in the hinterland also make the region interesting for culture and nature vacationers. The Maremma has a variety of nature parks and nature reserves. Maremma wines are becoming increasingly popular and all well-known Italian wineries have secured areas for cultivation here and produce high quality wines. |
Grape variety : | Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot |
Manufacture : | 9 months in steel tanks, then another 3 months in barriques. |
Degustationsnotiz: | Open fruit and warm barrique already in the powerful but harmonious bouquet; lots of enamel on the palate, the strong tannin is already well integrated, this is important because Stefano's entry-level wine needs a bit of maturity. |
Drinkability : | year + 8 years |
Enjoy: | Strong meat dishes made from game, lamb and beef, aged cheese, but also delicious with pasta. |
