Producer : | Founded in the 1980s by Gonzalo Antón, a renowned restaurateur from the Basque town of Vitoria, Bodegas Izadi now serves as the parent company of the Artevino producer group. The winery is located in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa in Villabuena de Álava and is supplied from around 150 hectares of vineyards from the north bank of the Ebro. Wine maker Ruth Rodríguez, who is also responsible for the Orben project, cultivates a moderately classic style with the wines from Izadi. |
Region: | The leading wine-growing region in Spain mainly produces red wines. It takes its name from the Rio Oja, an approx. 65 km long tributary of the Ebro, and it is largely in the autonomous region of La Rioja in northern Spain. Only small parts extend into the Basque Country in the northwest and into Navarre in the northeast. The center of Rioja is the capital of the Logroño region. |

Tasting note : | Impenetrable purple. Intense aromas of red and black forest berries, bourbon vanilla, mocha and pipe tobacco. Fruity, juicy and full on the palate, with seamlessly integrated tannins and a fresh acidity. A pleasant, slightly floral finish. |
