Producer: | The Viña Cerrón was founded in 1895. For many decades, simple wine was produced, which was bought and certainly enjoyed by the local population. After more than 50 years of cozy farming life, the family business began to flourish more and more, so that from 1950, land could be purchased continuously. It was followed by plantations of Tempranillo, Syrah, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and finally Chardonnay. In the early 1990s, the conversion to biodynamic viticulture took place. Today, the name Viña Cerrón in Spain stands for the pioneering role of the organic viticulture movement. Under the direction of renowned oenologist Pedro Sarrión, the wines are fantastically dense, full of character and with an enormous aroma. The creative head of the family business is the young Juan José Cerdán, who has provided the entire wine line with funny nostalgic labels and is keen to make his wines known outside of Spain. |
