Welcome to the 4* Hotel Rennsteig Masserberg.
The Hotel Rennsteig, im Style and built according to the principles of half Bauhaus and half post-modern lightness, is located directly on the outskirts of the traditional spa town of Masserberg on the heights of the Thuringian Forest. Large glass walls let in light. Italian leather sofas and bright, shiny parquet floors create an elegant atmosphere.

On the heights of the Rennsteig, in the middle of the Thuringian Forest, upscale cuisine has now also found its way. We spoil our guests with regional gourmet dishes, from the Thuringian Schnippelsuppe, the Rostbrätel to the excellent seasonal cuisine. In the summer months, usually from mid-May to mid-September, we offer our guests a barbecue buffet every Friday as part of our half-board arrangement.

Spend the evening in our unique Fliegerbar with a cocktail from our bar team or with some dancing End comfortably on foot to a wide variety of music genres. Our evening specials range from "Irish Folk" (Irish live music), dance evenings, happy hour to our popular oldie evenings and thus offer just the right thing for every taste. Opened 10 years ago as a classic hotel bar, it developed through the traditional farewell gifts from the pilots from the parachute to the aviator suit (jet combo), to today's aviator bar and amazes many a guest.

All 92 rooms are equipped with shower/toilet, TV, telephone, minibar, safe and hairdryer. Some of our suites also have bathtubs. Our hotel has 92 non-smoking rooms including four non-smoking floors. Please state your wishes when making your reservation. Our rooms are spread over 5 levels. The rooms on the lower floor (1st level) can also be used as terrace rooms in summer. Please ask for it. These rooms and our panorama rooms on the 3rd floor with a wide view can be booked for a small surcharge. You can choose between rooms with a view of the Kurallee, the town and the wide village meadows or with a view of the hotel entrance to the forest). Sun loungers invite you to sunbathe. The small sauna world in the hotel promises pleasant relaxation. If you feel like moving, archery and Nordic walking are offered. With its location, the hotel is well suited for skiers. A 120sqm gym is part of the accommodation's sports and leisure facilities. Various wellness offers such as Finnish sauna, bio sauna, massage treatments and beauty treatments are offered in the house. Our in-house archery cellar (190 m²), which was opened on February 27th, 2002 by the world champion in instinctive archery, Henry Bodnik, is at the same time the only one of its kind in the whole of central Germany.
