Description

Producer : It all starts with a nickname, "Braida", which Giuseppe Bologna earned when he played the sport "pallone elastico", which was popular in Piedmont. The head of the family worked as a wagoner and cultivated his beautiful vineyard with Barbera, for himself and his friends. Giacomo Bologna inherited from his father this vineyard and the nicknames, but above all the unconditional love for his soil and wine. He conveyed this love first to his wife Anna, then to his children Raffaella and Beppe. Today the company is an enlarged image of Giacomo and Anna's philosophy, their attitude towards life, the soil and wine. It was Anna who took over the legacy after Giacomo's death and realized the plans that he had begun and dreamed of. At their side, Raffaella and Beppe have for years shared courageous initiatives and important investments in both the wine cellar and the vineyard. Raffaella and Beppe are different siblings: she takes care of the commercial part with verve and ingenuity; he, the more thoughtful and calm, prefers the agricultural part and the production.
Region: Piedmont - the region of the highest mountains, the greatest wines, the longest river and perhaps the best cuisine in Italy. It is divided geologically into three landscapes: the high mountains of the western Alps, the flat Po Valley and the southern low mountains of Monferrato and Langhe. Piedmont stands for history and memory, art and culture, legends and traditions. There are 12 DOCG areas and the most famous are Barolo, Barbaresco - certainly Asti, Gavi and Roero. If not labeled as DOCG wine, all wines have DOC status. The most important vermouth producers in the world are domiciled in Piedmont. The drink consists of at least 70% wine.
Grape variety : Barbera
Manufacture : The Barbera grapes from the Uccellone vineyard are harvested by hand and processed immediately. After the grapes are gently squeezed, a gentle maceration follows. The young wine then matures in barriques for 18 months.
Degustationsnotiz: Full-bodied with silk tannins and good melting, dark cherries, noble barrique aromas and a beguiling variety of aromas. Long and very harmonious finale, despite its youthfulness. Full-bodied on the palate with silk
Drinkability : year + 8 years
Enjoy: Hearty meat dishes and Piedmont specialties (fonduta with truffle, brasato, etc.). Also excellent with mature cheese.
